Monarchs’ Tuesday game at Wellington canceled
Hutchinson’s final three regular-season games are at home

The Hutchinson Monarchs-Wellington Heat non-Jayhawk Collegiate League baseball game Tuesday in Wellington was canceled.
Hutchinson’s next game will be at 7 p.m. Thursday against the Kansas Cannons at Hobart-Detter Field. The Monarchs host the Kingman Islanders at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Hutchinson Monarchs (25-6) won their ninth consecutive game Monday night at home. Hutchinson defeated the Wichita Black Sox 11-1 in a seven-inning run-rule game.
The Monarchs, who earned a bid to the 90th National Baseball Congress Tournament because they are the defending champions, have an 11-1 JCL record and a 2 1/2-game lead in the second-half league standings.
The Derby Twins are 8-3 in league play and 18-9 overall, followed by the Kansas Cannons 8-4 and 21-8, Wichita Dirtbag Baseball 7-4 and 7-15, Great Bend 5-6 and 16-11, Kingman 3-6 and 9-15, Haysville 4-7 and 17-10, Diamond Kings 2-8 and 5-19 and Newton 2-10 and 5-23.
The Haysville Aviators were the JCL first-half champions and received a bid to the NBC Tournament.

Former Blue Dragon golfer Dominic Clemons competing in British Open
Former Hutchinson Community College All-American golfer Dominic Clemons will make his major championship debut on Thursday in The Open Championship.
Clemons is scheduled to tee off at 8:47 a.m. BST (2:47 a.m. CST) on Thursday morning at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland.
The trio of Clemons, Stewart Cink and Chris Kirk will tee off at 1:48 p.m. BST (7:48 a.m. CST) on Friday in Round 2.
Clemons is the first-ever former HutchCC golfer to ever qualify for a PGA major championship.
